Group Makes Second Donation Of PPE To LASUTH

The Health Emergency Initiative (HEI), an organisation that provides medical assistance to indigent/vulnerable people in public hospitals recently made a second donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the management of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), in support of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The Director, Clinical Services and Training (DCST), Dr. Ibrahim Mustafa, who received the donated items on behalf of the hospital management, appreciated the great privilege of receiving another round of donations from a reputable organisation such as HEI. He commended HEI for its humanitarian roles as well as for the donated items which, according to him, are part of essential working equipment for all health workers in the ongoing battle to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. While praying that God will replenish and meet the Organisation at all its points of need, Mustafa called on other well-meaning Nigerians to support and extend the hand of fellowship to the State Government, through the hospital, especially at these perilous times. On his part, the Executive Director of Health Emergency Initiative, Mr. Paschal Achumini, said that the organisation focuses on providing funds for patients who are unable to foot their bills during the course of their treatment in various hospitals. He said, however, HEI is of the view that LASUTH needs all the necessary support in its fight against the Coronavirus disease, hoping that the gesture would help in curbing the spread of COVID-19, as well as bridge certain gaps in patients’ recovery journey. “This is the same reason we have come with this token as part of our contribution to the fight against this global pandemic”, he added. Achumini also thanked the management of the hospital for the prompt response to the team and the efforts being made as a health institution towards saving the lives of others.
