KAI Marshal Applauds Provision Of Welfare Packages To Workforce

The KAI Marshal of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) Brigade, CP Gbemisola Akinpelu (Rtd) has expressed gratitude to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for consistently compensating beneficiaries of civil servants that passed away in the active service of the State. The Marshal stated this today at the Command Headquarters, Bolade-Oshodi, during the presentation of a cheque to the beneficiary of one of the Agency’s operatives who died in active service. She said, “Late Moshood Ayeni, one of our personnel who unfortunately died in active and lawful duty on Tuesday, 23rd of May, 2017, and passed on to the great beyond in an unfortunate which, which was largely due to the activities of illegal and defiant hawkers in the State". CP Akinpelu (rtd.) explained further that the officer's death has further strengthened the Agency's resolve to rid the State of hawkers, street trading and other environmental nuisances constituting a menace to the security and well-being of motorists in Lagos. She declared that the violent individuals, who attack government officials in the course of their official responsibilities, will not be spared in the exercise of the Agency’s mandate to rid the State of street trading, noting that the kind gesture from the Governor will go a long way to alleviate the suffering, as well as support the deceased’s family in their upkeep. Akinpelu, however, urged the beneficiaries to effectively and judiciously utilise the money received in a way that will gladden the heart of the late Moshood Ayeni and cater for the family he left behind. While presenting the cheque on behalf of the Lagos State Government to the next-of-kin, Master Fatai Ayeni and other family members, the representative from the Office of Chief of Staff and Director, Special Services, Mr. Akinrinmade Morakinyo said that the presentation is in line with the philosophy of the State government to support victims of injustice. He reiterated the commitment of the State Government to the provision of adequate welfare packages for its workforce, which he said, is of utmost importance to the present administration.
