The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and the Chairman of Epe Local Government Area, Princess Surah Animashaun, are set to inaugurate a two-day tuberculosis (TB) screening campaign aimed at raising awareness and providing free health screenings to residents. The campaign, themed “End TB, Stop TB,” will take place at the Epe LG Primary Healthcare Centre, Epe, and will offer free blood pressure and blood sugar checks, X-rays, and TB screenings.
Chairman Animashaun highlighted the urgent need for awareness, as limited knowledge about TB continues to endanger the health of residents across the council, Lagos State, and Nigeria. She urged the local population to participate in the screenings as part of a broader effort to prevent and control TB, particularly as these diseases are both preventable and treatable.
This initiative reflects Animashaun's dedication to improving healthcare in Epe, where she emphasizes awareness and accessibility to medical services as key priorities. In addition to addressing TB, she expressed concern over the prevalence of high blood pressure and the importance of accessible health programs to support community well-being.
